The CW has released the official poster for Supergirl Season 2 and it features Kara Zor-El up in the skies.
The attractive yet non-threatening racially diverse cast of this new CW show (as Cat Grant would say) will be once again visiting our living rooms (or wherever your TV is) by the 10th of October. While waiting for the much anticipated season 2 trailer, we’ll first leave you with this poster of Kara Danvers a.k.a. Supergirl played by Melissa Benoist.
With the move from CBS to sister network The CW, Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg promises to bring Supergirl into a larger universe through multi-show crossovers with our super heroine in the middle of it all. New characters are also set to share the small screen with our Girl of Steel. One prominent player is The Man of Steel himself, Clark Kent who’ll be played by Teen Wolf’s Tyler Hoechlin.
Other new cast additions include Ian Gomez as Snapper Carr, Floriana Lima as National City Police Department detective Maggie Sawyer, Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor, Chris Wood as Daxamite Mon-El (the character in the pod shown in the season 1 finale), Sharon Leal as Miss Martian and Lynda Carter as president of the United States.
Although big changes are about to come, like a musical cross-over with The Flash and an episode to be directed by Kevin Smith (Mallrats, Tusk), Executive producer Sarah Schechter guarantees that Supergirl will still focus on the titular character and will continue on to be the fun, positive TV series that its fans have come to love since episode 1.
