GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 POSTER AND TEASER TRAILER RELEASED

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn took to Twitter to post the official poster of the movie’s second installment. The poster, which captures the film’s wit with the tagline “Obviously”, features the main cast with two new recruits. Karen Gillan‘s Nebula and Michael Rooker‘s Yondu are seen chilling with our favorite gang of intergalactic misfits in this black and white poster à la Vogue.

Along with the release of the official poster, James Gunn also posted the first ever sneak peek of the sequel on Youtube (as featured above). The clip, like the first installment’s trailers, still plays Blue Swede’s 1968 hit “Hooked on a Feeling”. The background music perfectly fits the scene where Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista) foregoes his nickname and attempts to play love doctor to a lovelorn Star-Lord (Chris Pratt).

Drax and Star-Lord hug.

He then gives him this heart wrenching advice before going in for a hug. “There are two types of beings in the universe: those who dance and those who do not. You just need to find a woman who is pathetic like you.”

Here is the film’s official synopsis:

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 stars Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Karen Gillan as Nebula and Michael Rooker as Yondu. Cast additions include Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha , Chris Sullivan as Taserface and Kurt Russell as Ego the Living Planet.

The sequel is slated to hit theaters on the 5th of May, 2017.
