In a sneak peek of the live-action version of Beauty and the Beast, we see Emma Watson and Dan Stevens as Belle and the Beast at a table read. We also get a glimpse of fellow costars Ian McKellen, Luke Evans, Josh Gad and Emma Thompson on the same table sitting beside each other.
The dialogue starts with Belle asking the Beast, “What are you reading?” to which he blandly answers, “Nothing”. She then spills “Guenevere and Lancelot” with a hint of astonishment in her tone. Stevens then corrects her, saying “King Arthur and the Roundtable”. “Still a romance,” Watson says with a smile on her face. The Beast then admits that he “felt like a change”.
The clip also features Director Bill Condon saying that it’s about time for a live-action version of this beloved Disney animated movie to be made. “When something is so perfect, why get near it? The answer is that technology has caught up to the ideas that were introduced in that movie,” the Director says.
The live action rendering of Beauty and the Beast is set to hit the big screens this March 17, 2017.
