GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY WILL TEAM WITH AVENGERS FOR ‘INFINITY WAR’

File this one under “no-brainer”.

Via Facebook Live video, ‘Groot’ voice actor and tank top aficionado Vin Diesel confirmed that Marvel’s ragtag quintet would join forces with the eponymous super team in Avengers: Infinity War.

“The Guardians will be included in Avengers: Infinity War, and that’s incredibly exciting. You were told before everybody,” Vin told viewers, confirming long-rumored speculation. The two teams will unite to thwart the villainous Thanos (Josh Brolin) from obtaining a weapon of unbelievable power. Infinity War will be directed by the Russo Brothers (Captain America: Civil War) and is set to hit theaters May 8, 2016.

Fans won’t have to wait that long to see Starlord and the rest of the crew again. The team will return for the sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 scheduled to open May 5, 2017. James Gunn returns to direct along with stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, and Karen Gillan. The film will also see several newcomers including Kurt Russell, Sylvester Stallone, and Pom Klementieff.
